  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink through coursework, research projects, internships, or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
  • Understanding of feedback control systems, state machines, or system modeling concepts.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into logical models.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering and productivity tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Stateflow.
  • Experience developing GUIs using MATLAB App Designer or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts.
  • Coursework or project experience involving controls, robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or vehicle systems.
  • Experience with software development fundamentals and version control tools.
  • Participation in engineering design teams such as Formula SAE, EcoCAR, robotics competitions, or similar projects.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle control systems, autonomous features, or embedded software development.
  • Junior or senior standing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop desktop prototypes of vehicle control features using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Create and maintain Stateflow logic models representing functional and behavioral requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems, controls, software, and integration engineers to understand feature requirements and expected vehicle behavior.
  • Translate functional requirements and use cases into executable control models and simulations.
  • Design and implement simple graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to demonstrate control feature functionality and customer use cases.
  • Evaluate control strategies through simulation and analysis, identifying opportunities to improve performance, robustness, and usability.
  • Support verification of control logic through desktop testing, scenario-based simulations, and model reviews.
  • Document modeling assumptions, algorithms, test scenarios, and results.
  • Present prototype functionality and simulation results to engineering stakeholders.
  • Follow established engineering processes and contribute to a collaborative, cross-functional development environment.

Benefits
