About The Position

The El Mirage Police Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Vehicle Impound Coordinator. This is a part-time role focused on providing skilled program support to the towing enforcement program. The incumbent will coordinate logistics, review impound reports, liaise with vendors and other agencies, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures. This position involves processing complex transactions, performing quality assurance, making mathematical computations, data entry, report preparation, and handling legal and confidential documents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
  • Arizona Class D Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of operating and program policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methods and techniques as applied to written and financial data.
  • Knowledge of techniques and methods for organizing and prioritizing work.
  • Knowledge of formats and practices for correspondence and reports.
  • Knowledge of business math concepts.
  • Knowledge of filing and record-keeping practices.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices.
  • Knowledge of uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of applicable operating policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern office technology.
  • Knowledge of software or computer applications required for the assignment.
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and the geography of the city.
  • Skill in following directions and meeting standards.
  • Skill in adhering to operating policies and procedures.
  • Skill in accessing business systems or databases to enter, monitor, and retrieve data.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates logistics for the towing enforcement program.
  • Reviews impound reports to determine if a vehicle is eligible for release.
  • Coordinates with vendors, other agencies and towing companies.
  • Follows standard operating procedures to process complex and detailed transactions in support of a program.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews on records and transactions; resolves issues and makes corrections.
