As a LifeWise vehicle driver, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a responsible, punctual driver with a clean driving record who creates a safe environment for children. Drivers may volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director. Candidates must have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith and actively participate in and commit to a local church whose doctrine aligns with that statement. Applicants must be 21–80 years of age and have held a regular driver’s license continuously for the past three years. Drivers of vehicles seating more than 15 passengers need a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement; no special license is required for a 15-passenger van. Candidates must pass LifeWise Academy’s background check and a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). The role requires a clean driving record, with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the past five years; candidates with such incidents should contact their Program Coach to determine employment eligibility. Drivers with known medical conditions must obtain a yearly underwriter-approved Physician’s Statement. Drug and/or alcohol testing is required as applicable, including pre-employment, annual random testing, and testing following traffic accidents. Drivers over age 75 have additional documentation requirements: van drivers must submit an annual Physician’s Statement, CDL drivers must submit their CDL license and passenger endorsement annually, and any driver over 75 must submit additional documentation as required.
