Vehicle Driver

LifeWise Academy•Dayton, OH

About The Position

As a LifeWise vehicle driver, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) and part-time. Candidates should be responsible and punctual and have a clean driving record. Applicants must have a mature personal Christian faith consistent with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith and actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with it. Drivers must meet the stated licensing, age, driving-record, screening, and medical-documentation requirements. Drivers of vehicles seating more than 15 passengers need a Commercial Driver’s License with a passenger-vehicle (P) endorsement; a 15-passenger van does not require a special license. Drivers transport children and volunteers, obey traffic laws, maintain and inspect the vehicle, refuel it as needed, and create a safe environment for students. They enforce safety rules, assist students entering or exiting when needed, maintain a calm and caring demeanor, and remain attentive to students who need help or are misbehaving. Drivers may also volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if they agree to do so with the Director.
