About The Position

The Vehicle Check In Clerk is responsible for accurately inputting vehicle information into the AS400 computer system using a handheld computer or headset. This role involves receiving vehicles at the Auction, recording essential details such as VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, and options. The clerk will also affix necessary labels and stickers, flag vehicles without keys, direct transporters, report transport damage, take digital images of vehicles, and provide sale identification windshield codes. A strong commitment to safety procedures and cooperation with safety leadership is essential. Additional duties may include assisting with driving vehicles during sale days. The position requires frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing.

Requirements

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period of-time; ability to lift-up to 30 lbs.
• Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal – PT) or provide information via headset to co-worker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including: Vehicle Identification number (VIN) Stock number Dealer identification number Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
• Flag “no key” cars.
• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone.
• Report transport damage as needed.
• Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check-in area.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
