Vehicle Auction Check in Specialist I
About The Position
This role is responsible for accurately inputting vehicle information into the AS400 system, affixing identification stickers, applying work order numbers, identifying "no key" vehicles, directing transporters, inspecting and reporting transport damage, and providing sale identification windshield codes. Additionally, the role involves data protection by removing personal information and navigation data from vehicles, ensuring compliance with privacy policies. Facility support includes basic fit tunnel maintenance, keeping the area clean, and reporting equipment issues. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to all safety procedures and assisting with operational duties such as driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required
- Basic computer skills required.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
- Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test.
- Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

- Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Responsibilities
- Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device (TC-75), including VIN, stock number, Dealer ID, Make, model, year, mileage, color, options.
- Affix barcode/stock number stickers to each vehicle upon arrival.
- Apply work order numbers and routing labels to vehicles.
- Identify and flag “no key” vehicles.
- Direct transporters to designated vehicle drop zones.
- Inspect and report transport damage as required.
- Provide proper sale identification windshield codes.
- Remove and clear all personal information from vehicles, including documents, saved contacts, and identifiable items.
- Reset or remove navigation system data (addresses, history, Bluetooth pairings, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding customer data privacy and security.
- Perform basic fit tunnel maintenance, including keeping the area clean and organized, and reporting equipment issues or malfunctions.
- Assist with routine upkeep to ensure operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Support Safety Excellence initiatives and work with leadership on safety activities.
- Assist with additional operational duties as assigned, including driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days.
