About The Position

The Vault Teller maintains and monitors coin and currency levels in the bank vault. The role verifies sums of coin and currency received from branches, correspondent banks, customers, and tellers, and follows established procedures with integrity, care, and excellence. The Vault Teller also handles check deposit items and image-quality audits, coordinates with senders when errors occur, prepares excess coin and currency for shipment, balances completed work, compiles inventory reports as needed, and maintains security over the work area.

Requirements

• Basic computer and calculator skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supply branches, correspondent banks, and customers with coin and currency.
• Monitor and maintain established cash levels in the vault and order cash from the Federal Reserve Bank when necessary.
• Verify sums of coin and currency received from branches, correspondent banks, customers, and tellers.
• Verify, capture, and balance check deposit items and audit check image quality.
• Contact the appropriate sender in case of an error.
• Prepare and ship excess coin and currency to the Federal Reserve Bank or correspondent banks.
• Balance completed work and compile reports showing inventory as needed.
• Maintain security over the area of operation by following established procedures.
