Under general supervision, promotes effective laboratory function and test quality in the administration and performance of various noninvasive vascular blood flow tests. Performs various noninvasive tests, at the request of attending physicians, in the Vascular Laboratory. Tests performed may include: duplex imaging of lower and upper extremity arteries and veins, carotid arteries, mesenteric, aortoiliac, hepatoportal, as well as Doppler physiological testing and TCD exams. Determines which series of tests to give patient based on responses to previous tests and physicians' recommendations. Reports abnormal results immediately to referring physician, being sure to document particulars regarding such communication in patient's chart according to department policy and procedure. Explains disease patterns and writes preliminary interpretations of test results for final physician interpretation.
