About The Position

Join Cedars-Sinai, an organization renowned for its excellence and consistently ranked among the best hospitals and medical groups. We are seeking a dedicated Vascular Technologist to join our Vascular Surgery team. This role involves utilizing ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic studies, supporting physician diagnoses, and ensuring high-quality imaging. You will be responsible for performing vascular ultrasound studies, including Doppler and imaging-guided endovenous laser ablation, acquiring measurements, creating preliminary reports, and communicating findings to physicians. The position requires adherence to infection control processes, patient safety, and maintaining accurate clinical data for reports, demographics, and billing. A strong team approach and professional conduct are essential.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required within 1 year of hire date.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required
  • 1 year of experience required

Responsibilities

  • Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
  • Responsible for providing high quality imaging
  • Responsible for the performance of vascular ultrasound studies including doppler and imaging guided endovenous laser ablation
  • Appropriately acquires echo vascular measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
  • Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
  • Ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review
  • Performs appropriate infection control processes
  • Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety
  • Addresses patient informative needs as pertains to requested studies
  • Prepares patients for the study
  • Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
  • Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department
