About The Position

This PRN position provides technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services. The Vascular Radiology Technologist will ensure readiness of emergency equipment and supplies, recognize and react appropriately to potential emergency situations, and perform or assist in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams. This role also involves maintaining files and compiling records, providing instruction and education to healthcare personnel and patients, and performing routine analysis on imaging equipment. The position requires the ability to work independently, navigate multiple computer systems, and possess knowledge of vascular anatomy.

Requirements

• Associate's degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of Special Procedures Training Program or one year experience as a technologist in Special Procedures.
• Completion of one week sterile technique training program to be provided by the OR education coordinator, if no prior Special Procedures experience or with surgical technique.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
• CPR certification required - BLS.
• Good oral, written, and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize clinical responsibilities.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems.
• Training skills.
• Knowledge of vascular anatomy.

Nice To Haves

• Registered Cardiovascular-Interventional Technologist (ARRT- CV or VI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations.
• Provides technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services.
• Performs or assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams, as well as maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports.
• Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care and maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work objectives.
• Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and a minimum of downtime.
