About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who plans and provides patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The Registered Nurse manages patients by taking full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. This is an onsite position at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, 75 Francis Street, with a variable evening shift and 36 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Current registration in Massachusetts.
For newly licensed nurses, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
At least 3 years of recent IV experience.
At least 2 years of ultrasound-guided IV experience.
Demonstrate basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
Function under stress and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate effective application of hospital standards for service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management.

Nice To Haves

PICC experience preferred.
