About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts and accountable for planning and providing patient care in accordance with the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The role manages patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and reports directly to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. This position is part of the Vascular Access Team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and requires recent vascular access/IV team experience and ultrasound-guided IV skills. PICC experience is preferred.

Requirements

Current registration as a nurse in Massachusetts.
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Newly licensed nurses must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
At least 3 years of recent Vascular Access/IV Team experience.
Ultrasound-guided IV skills required.
Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
Observational skills and ability to set priorities.
Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Effective skills in applying hospital standards for service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management.

Nice To Haves

PICC experience.
