About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who plans and provides patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills when caring for patients with complex needs. The Registered Nurse manages patient care by taking full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. This position is with the Vascular Access Team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. It is onsite at 75 Francis Street and has a 36-hour variable rotating shift schedule.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Current Massachusetts nursing registration.
Newly licensed nurses must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
At least 3 years of recent Vascular Access/IV Team experience.
Ultrasound-guided IV experience required.
Demonstrate basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
Demonstrate observational skills and ability to set priorities.
Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards for service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management.

Nice To Haves

PICC experience preferred.
