About The Position

Lansing Catholic High School is seeking a Varsity Sideline/Competitive Cheer Head Coach. The ideal candidate will be able to support the mission of Lansing Catholic High School, which is to form students spiritually, intellectually, and socially into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. This role involves planning, organizing, and teaching the fundamentals and techniques of sideline and competitive cheerleading to student-athletes, while promoting a virtue-based coaching system that emphasizes trust, hard work, loyalty, and integrity. The coach will also be responsible for organizing clinics and sports camps for younger athletes, demonstrating leadership qualities such as a positive attitude, energy, and sportsmanship, and effectively communicating with parents and the Athletic Department. Flexibility with daily schedules to accommodate diverse practice times is also required.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the sport of Sideline and Competitive Cheer.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and teach fundamentals and techniques to student-athletes.
  • Virtue based coaching system promoting trust, hard work, loyalty, and integrity.
  • Ability to put on clinics and sports camps for younger athletes.
  • Leadership qualities that include a positive attitude, energy, and sportsmanship.
  • Ability to communicate with and build relationships with parents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with the Athletic Department.
  • Flexibility with daily schedule to fit in diverse practice times.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to support the mission of Lansing Catholic which is “Lansing Catholic High School Community forms students spiritually, intellectually and socially into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.”
  • Minimum three years of high school Basketball coaching experience recommended.
  • College playing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
