About The Position

Martinsville High School is hiring a Varsity Girls Golf Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. The coach will develop student-athletes, oversee team activities, and support the school's mission to challenge and inspire children through rich experiences that empower them to succeed and contribute positively to the world. The position requires emotional stability, sound judgment, and professional composure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and responding appropriately to student needs and unexpected situations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer or communication skills, if relevant.
Ability to work with students.
Experience in schools or similar settings.
Knowledge of the sport.
Coaching certifications.
Ability to remain emotionally stable, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professional composure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and responding appropriately to student needs and unexpected situations.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a head or assistant coach.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all IHSAA regulations, including player eligibility, transfer policies, and required training standards.
Ensure student-athletes’ safety, welfare, and appropriate conduct during practices, competitions, and team activities.
Develop and implement comprehensive in-season and off-season training programs.
Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress.
Organize team schedules and coordinate transportation requests.
Develop game strategies.
Oversee equipment inventory and maintenance.
Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
Conduct parent meetings and maintain positive communication with families.
Collaborate effectively with school administration.
Foster player development by building and maintaining a strong feeder program with the middle school.
