About The Position

Webberville Middle & High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Varsity Boys Baseball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baseball, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position requires the coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and uphold the values of sportsmanship and respect within the program.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent experience in playing baseball.
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the baseball season.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
• A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.

Nice To Haves

• First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to the season.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
• Organize and oversee all aspects of the varsity baseball program, including scheduling games, managing equipment, and coordinating team travel.
• Develop and implement a competitive game strategy, including scouting opponents and analyzing game performance.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth among players.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies, as well as state and national regulations governing high school athletics.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall success of the athletic program.
• Attend coaching clinics and professional development opportunities to stay current on coaching techniques and trends in the sport.
