About The Position

Grand Ledge High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of volleyball techniques and strategies, along with the ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. This seasonal position requires a commitment to fostering a positive team environment, promoting sportsmanship, and encouraging personal and athletic development.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher, with a focus on volleyball.
Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and their families.
Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain prior to the season).
A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
Must pass a background check and meet any other requirements set by the school district.
Availability for practices, games, and team events during the season.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
Conduct regular team practices and oversee all aspects of the varsity boys volleyball program.
Maintain a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Organize and manage team schedules, including practices, games, and tournaments.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations and progress.
Monitor the academic performance and well-being of student-athletes to ensure a balanced approach to athletics and academics.
Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Grand Ledge High School.
Scout and analyze opponents to prepare the team for competition.
Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations.
Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on the latest coaching techniques and strategies.
