The district serves approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12 across 35 schools and programs, including 6 high schools, 6 middle schools, 6 K-8 schools, 13 elementary schools, and 4 alternative education programs. A significant portion of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch (82.3%), are served by Special Education (20.1%), and are students of color (83%). The district is seeking dedicated and diverse educators who are passionately committed to urban education, believe all students can learn at high levels, demonstrate commitment to serving urban students and closing the achievement gap, prioritize student interests, contribute to a culture of high expectations, and adapt seamlessly to the urban school environment. This specific position is for a Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach at Corcoran for the 2025-2026 season. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, staffed by certified, dedicated individuals who work hard and care deeply about their student athletes. The modified program (grades 7-8) focuses on skill development and participation, emphasizing discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and dedication to hard work, preparing students for higher levels of competition. At the high school level (Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity), the teams strive for success and efficient team and individual effort, stressing the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
