About The Position

The Varsity Baseball Head Coach at Hillsboro High School supports the Hillsboro School District’s athletic objectives, interscholastic athletics policies, and Athletic Code. The District views extracurricular activities as an integral part of school life and encourages students of all abilities to participate when possible, supporting their physical, intellectual, and social growth. Coaches organize and conduct athletic programs to meet the needs of the District and participating students.

Requirements

• Experience in and/or knowledge of the sport, coaching techniques, and student supervision.
• Ability and willingness to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with student-athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and other school staff.
• Ability and willingness to perform coaching responsibilities in accordance with school and District procedures and policies.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Current Concussion Management training and other training required by the OSAA.
• Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and collaborate on solutions to concerns.
• Successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish; fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both languages is determined by the District screening tool.
