About The Position

This role involves leading and developing a high-performing advisory team focused on participant financial well-being. The leader will be responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and providing feedback to the team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture, and setting clear performance expectations. The position drives participant and business outcomes by ensuring a deep understanding of financial solutions, maintaining strong appointment availability, and delivering consistent service quality. The leader will also elevate planning quality by supporting advisors in analyzing participant needs, resolving issues, and developing practical solutions. Strategic contributions include participating in annual business planning and long-term initiatives to strengthen the VSA service model. The role also involves shaping departmental policies and procedures, communicating industry developments, and supporting organizational change. Building trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and serving as a planning resource with deep knowledge of Vanguard products and the financial services industry are key aspects. The leader will also manage special projects to advance the team and improve client experience.

Requirements

  • Eight years of related experience in participant advice and/or financial consulting, including supervisory experience, strongly preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • CFP preferred.
  • This job requires series 7, 63, 24, 65/65/66 regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC).
  • Leaders are expected to model strong risk awareness and ensure required registrations, licensing, documentation, and communications standards are consistently met in alignment with Compliance guidance.

  • Contribute to annual business planning, departmental priorities, and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, influence, and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate internal and industry developments quickly and accurately.
  • Support organization evolution and change management at the department level.
  • Cultivate close relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a visible leader within the Workplace and Personal Wealth organizations.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Vanguard products, funds, services, financial planning, capital markets, and the broader financial services industry.
  • Share expertise with internal partners as needed.
  • Lead special projects and other initiatives that advance the team, improve the client experience, or support business needs.
