About The Position

Part-Time Van Driver for the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City at the Railton Center. This role is crucial for ensuring children have a safe and reliable ride to the Club after school, where they receive homework help, mentoring, and a sense of belonging. The Van Driver is often the first and last point of contact for the children, making a significant impact on their day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Missouri Class E driver's license and a clean driving record
Experience driving groups of people
Solid knowledge of transportation safety rules and good route-planning skills
Basic understanding of vehicle upkeep
A positive attitude and the ability to be a role model and build rapport with kids, families, and staff
Availability weekday afternoons, with occasional evening or event hours
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Must meet Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services health and employment requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and drive daily

Responsibilities

Safely transport Club members between schools, Club sites, and field trips, following established routes and schedules.
Greet and supervise kids on board, ensuring accountability, adherence to safety rules, and proper boarding/exiting procedures.
Arrive at pickup points on time and adhere to passenger limits.
Maintain van cleanliness, perform daily condition checks, keep a vehicle log, and report maintenance needs.
Record and report any accidents or incidents to the supervisor.
Maintain close communication with the Railton Center Unit Director and Director of Operations regarding routes, schedule changes, and emergencies.
Participate in trainings, safety courses, and staff meetings.
