Surface Operations - Van Driver
About The Position
Major Drilling America is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Van Driver to transport employees between Winnemucca, Nevada, and the project site. The role helps ensure crews arrive safely and on time for shift changes and daily operations. The driver operates company vehicles, follows safe driving practices, and provides professional transportation for employees working rotating day and night shifts. A flexible split-shift schedule is required to accommodate crew rotations. The position involves frequent driving in varying weather and road conditions, extended periods of sitting and operating a vehicle, and work during early mornings, daytime, nighttime, and weekends. Schedules rotate based on operational needs. The driver may be exposed to mining and industrial work environments during employee pickups and drop-offs. Physical duties include entering and exiting vehicles multiple times per shift, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and performing inspections that involve bending, reaching, and climbing.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Strong safety awareness and defensive driving skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles multiple times per shift.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections involving bending, reaching, and climbing.

- Previous commercial, passenger transportation, shuttle, bus, or van driving experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport employees between Winnemucca and the project site.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicles.
- Comply with company transportation policies and applicable driving regulations.
- Monitor weather and road conditions and adjust travel plans as needed to ensure safe transportation.
- Maintain accurate mileage, inspection, and transportation records.
- Coordinate with operations personnel regarding crew transportation schedules and shift changes.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees using transportation services.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, or changing operational needs.
- Follow all Major Drilling safety standards and procedures.
