About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team at Schoolcraft Community Schools. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient transportation of students within our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a passion for working with young individuals. As a token of appreciation for your hard work, a $1,000 bonus will be provided upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to adhere to schedules.
A commitment to safety and a passion for working with children.
Must be able to lift and assist students as needed.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience driving a van or bus preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring all safety equipment is in place and functional.
Follow designated routes and schedules while remaining flexible to accommodate changes as needed.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation-related matters.
Monitor student behavior during transport to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities promptly.
Adhere to all traffic laws, school policies, and safety regulations.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on best practices and safety protocols.
