About The Position

Luzerne County Head Start (LCHS) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Teachers. This role involves planning and implementing educational activities that are developmentally appropriate for children, managing the classroom environment, and fostering school readiness. The position requires evaluating and recording children's progress and maintaining regular communication with parents. LCHS is a non-profit organization committed to providing quality early childhood education.

Requirements

AA Degree in Early Childhood Education
BS Degree in Early Childhood Education with PA Certification in PK-4 Instructional I Preferred (Required for PreK Counts classroom assignments)
Current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations.
Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus

Bilingual Abilities Preferred (Eng/Spanish) – 5% additional pay

Responsibilities

In accordance with curriculum philosophy, develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on children's abilities and interests.
Plan and implement educational activities, including classroom management.
Evaluate and record children's progress.
Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
Provide and maintain a classroom atmosphere that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices.
