Van Driver - Marble Hill
About The Position
The Van Driver supports consumers and PSR staff by routinely transporting eligible consumers to and from the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) program. The role also assists PSR staff with program activities, which may include clerical work, kitchen duties, group work, and other assigned tasks. The PSR program serves adults age 18 and older who live with chronic mental illnesses and provides educational, career, social, and recreational activities on-site and in the community. The position is based in Marble Hill, Missouri, and is listed as full-time and non-exempt, with a base pay of $16.42–$18.82 per hour. The PSR program operates six days a week, Monday through Saturday. The posting describes a typical schedule of 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, one evening shift per week ending at approximately 6:30 p.m., and rotating Saturday coverage from 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Vans owned by the center transport members to the PSR program and to community activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold or obtain by the start date a Missouri Class E Driver’s License, or a Class D Driver’s License for Illinois residents.
- Proof of continuous auto insurance.
Responsibilities
- Provide protective oversight of clients and monitor their condition.
- Ensure clients’ safety and welfare according to policies and procedures.
- Assist and guide clients with PSR program tasks and responsibilities, including cleaning, cooking, and group activities.
- Assist with interventions during crisis situations when needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward the agency and its clientele.
- Provide support to the PSR Specialist and Manager as assigned.
- Transport members eligible for transportation services to and from PSR, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting when needed.
- Transport clients in an agency vehicle and/or personal vehicle when deemed necessary and appropriate to meet program requirements.
- Report problems with van operation, arrange servicing when needed, and maintain accurate van maintenance records.
- Maintain records of the number of clients transported.
- Operate the van according to DMH Licensure and CPRC Certification standards.
- Provide non-routine transportation services as assigned and as available.
- Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and other applicable federal or state program requirements and agency standards.
- Assist PSR staff with clerical, kitchen, group, or other activities as assigned.
