About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a professional and courteous Van Driver to join our Guest Services team. This full-time position is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for hotel guests within a three-mile radius of the hotel while delivering the warm, attentive service that defines the guest experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, knowledgeable about the Richmond area, and comfortable interacting with guests in a polished hospitality environment. This role is also part of the broader Guest Services team and includes cross-training in other positions such as Bell Staff and Door Staff to support seamless guest service throughout the property.

Requirements

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license required with a clean driving record (0+ points).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate strong reliability and punctuality.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility between 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM.
  • Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and demonstrate a courteous, guest-first attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with downtown Richmond and the Carytown area strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in guest services, transportation, or valet preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local roads and Richmond attractions preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and professional transportation for guests to and from locations within the hotel’s designated driving radius.
  • Assist guests entering and exiting the vehicle and help with luggage when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all hotel vehicles, inside and out.
  • Monitor fuel levels, vehicle condition, and maintenance needs; report any concerns promptly.
  • Record and track guest trips and mileage according to hotel procedures.
  • Offer helpful recommendations about local destinations, restaurants, and attractions.
  • Communicate with the Front Desk and Guest Services teams to coordinate pickups and drop-offs.
  • Follow all traffic laws and hotel safety standards.
  • Provide a welcoming first and last impression for guests arriving at or departing from the hotel.
  • Support the Guest Services team by cross-training and assisting with bell and door staff responsibilities when needed.
