About The Position

Join Control Southern’s expert team and help keep critical industrial systems running safely and efficiently. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of valves and actuators, performing calibration and testing, and providing technical support to customers. The position requires adherence to safety guidelines and operating various repair equipment.

Requirements

1–3 years in valve, pump, or actuator repair (or equivalent training).
Valid driver’s license and insurability.
Ability to lift up to 44 lbs and work in varied conditions (heat, cold, clean rooms).
Comfortable with off-hours, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Knowledge of rigging and moving heavy equipment.

Nice To Haves

Welding and machining skills are a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, time management, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, and maintain a variety of valves (control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, plug) and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric).
Perform calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of valves and process instrumentation.
Complete full repair cycle: pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, and final inspection.
Document all repair activities, including cause of failure and parts used.
Provide technical support and communicate with customers on-site and in-shop.
Adhere to National Board VR/UV program guidelines and site-specific safety requirements.
Operate repair equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, sandblasters, and power tools.
