About The Position

The Valve Automation Technician is a hands-on role that builds, tests, and troubleshoots automated valve and actuator assemblies using electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components. The technician works with equipment and materials such as Fluke meters, 4–20 mA generators, wiring, tubing, solenoids, positioners, and other automation accessories, while reading schematics, technical manuals, and CAD drawings. The position also supports quality inspections, shipping and warehouse operations, and a safe, organized work environment.

Genesis Systems distributes valves, control valves, regulators, and valve automation products in Texas and Oklahoma. It works with customers’ engineering, purchasing, and maintenance teams to provide solutions for common and specialty valve applications, process efficiency, and reliability. Genesis Systems is a subsidiary of FloWorks USA LP, a privately held company located in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with Fluke meters, 4–20 mA generators, electrical wiring, and tube bending.
• Experience with pneumatic tools and compressed air.
• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and CAD drawings.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, forklifts, and jib cranes.
• Ability to work with computers, specifically Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in home appliance repair.
• Prior experience in automotive repair.
• Technical or vocational training.

Responsibilities

• Build, automate, and function-test assemblies according to ADS, including various valve types, pneumatic and electric actuators, manual valves, rotary valves, and linear valves.
• Work with specialized automation accessories such as limit switches, solenoids, positioners, and quick exhausts.
• Assist with automation final quality control and quality assurance, including photo documentation.
• Troubleshoot automation and valve issues in the shop.
• Provide backup support for the Shipping Manager, including packaging, dock coverage, and assisting with truck loading and unloading.
• Provide offsite support if needed.
• Help print and edit ADS.
• Maintain general warehouse and shop safety and cleanliness.
• Empty VAC area trash cans as needed each morning.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and trainings.
