About The Position

Eaton’s Power Distribution and Control Assemblies (PDCA) Division is currently seeking a Value Stream Manager to join our site leadership team. This position is based at our Omaha, NE facility. Relocation assistance is available. Our Omaha Power Center is expanding its operations! Eaton’s new 370,000-square-foot facility is expected to be online in the first half of 2027. The new facility will be designed and optimized to support high volume of switchgear structures at the quality and speed that AI data centers customers require. The engineered-to-order switchgear produced in the new facility can be integrated into Eaton’s prefabricated power systems, which are designed to offer customers flexibility. The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is a member of the site leadership team and is responsible for leading the manufacturing team in developing talent and achieving production schedule, product quality, cost, and employee safety goals for their respective value stream. The role drives performance and deploys Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) and Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) to achieve or succeed financial plans, employee engagement and strategic goals. The VSM leverages resources and motivates team members to create high performance culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, production control and/or manufacturing supervision

  • Ability to interpret and collect data to drive decisions and identify improvements
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, and ability to understand highly technical product designs in order to address production opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and coaching capabilities to influence others to drive for results and accountability
  • Working knowledge of business systems, accounting systems, industrial engineering, and manufacturing operations and processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • SAP business system experience
  • Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations experience in an engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing setting
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma/CI Tools

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain current state and future state value stream maps for fabrication, kitting, assembly, inspection, and material handling.
  • Establish the management system (tier meetings, visual KPIs, daily accountability) to drive performance and problem solving.
  • Assess performance indicators and take appropriate actions to ensure schedule, cost and quality goals are met.
  • Own the short term and long-term scheduling and planning process in accordance with SIOP processes. To align all functional partners, resources, and material needs are met.
  • Own the short and long-term capital planning process with an emphasis on machinery and productivity in accordance with known operation needs, strategies, and objectives.
  • Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured products.
  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuous improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance through the deployment of continuous improvement framework (CIF).
  • Evaluate operational performance of the group to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, etc.
  • Manage budgets and resource plans, and monitor performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR to take care of employee relations issues as they arise within production.
  • Achieve labor productivity, reduction of overtime and lead cost reduction efforts to drive factory cost take out.
  • Assure that Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.
  • Champion implementation of MESH to achieve improvement in year-over-year safety performance measures
