Value Stream Manager
About The Position
Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a proven leader to serve as Value Stream Manager for Energetic Assemblies in Graham, Kentucky. The role reports to the Operations Manager and has full responsibility for leading operations activities and ensuring the Value Stream meets customer and business commitments. The manager oversees production, leads quality and engineering resources, oversees procurement resources, and supports energetic development programs. The position focuses on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance; continuous improvement through the Ensign-Bickford Operating System (EBOS); team development in a lean environment; and effective resource and capacity planning. The manager also oversees production planning and scheduling, supports transitions from development to production, manages budgets, and promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, operations management, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels and cross-functional groups.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- Effective employee management skills, including the ability to motivate people in a mixed development and production workforce.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills, with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and challenges.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing concepts and supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities
- Meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics for programs within the Value Stream.
- Analyze KPI variances and drive daily countermeasures and monthly systemic root-cause and corrective-action efforts.
- Pursue continuous improvement through the Ensign-Bickford Operating System (EBOS).
- Develop and mentor team members to work in a lean environment and make decisions.
- Work with functional leads on comprehensive capacity planning and maintaining sufficient resources for Value Stream demand.
- Prioritize production, quality, test, and other resources within the Value Stream.
- Support product transitions from development to production.
- Oversee production planning and scheduling activities and ensure preparation for leadership operating reviews.
- Manage Value Stream budgets and hold staff accountable for following company policy.
- Promote a positive, motivating environment and a culture of teamwork and engagement.
- Lead operations activities and ensure customer and business commitments are met.
- Manage production, lead quality and engineering resources, oversee procurement resources, and support energetic development programs.
