About The Position

The Value Stream Buyer is responsible for the execution of general procurement functions, analyzing and auditing the Dynamic Kanban system, and managing purchase orders for manufacturing demands to prevent shortages and maintain inventory levels. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability of production parts while minimizing inventory carrying costs and exposure and supports the procurement team’s financial objectives (PPV, DPO, OTD, Inventory Turns, etc.). This position reports to the Value Stream Manager, is part of the Operations team located in New Brighton, MN, and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent experience
Experience working with Excel, ERP/MRP, SAP.
Strong communication and negotiation skills working with vendors.

Nice To Haves

Experience in procurement and/or production planning in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a manufacturing environment and communicating with production operations
Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and/or DBS tools

Responsibilities

Ensure the availability of production parts while minimizing inventory carrying costs and exposure.
Interact with colleagues in production to proactively solve stock issues and improve processes.
Support on-time delivery and inventory reduction through the implementation of Supplier Quality Management and Dynamic Kanban systems, supporting negotiations for supplier Kanban implementation.
Proactively provide supply status, resolve availability issues, and provide tracking information to internal customers.
Recommend and implement Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to drive continuous process improvements in on-time delivery, cost savings, and inventory reduction.
