About The Position
Metropolis is an artificial intelligence company that uses computer vision to provide checkout-free parking experiences. It operates a parking network across North America and Europe and is developing checkout-free experiences for everyday settings. The Part-Time Valet - Special Events role is based at Loews Miami Beach and pays $15.00 per hour plus tips. The valet helps provide a smooth customer experience by safely inspecting and parking vehicles, explaining rates, responding to customer requests and concerns, and following traffic and safety practices. The position also involves reporting incidents and hazards, knowing local streets and landmarks, arriving on time in a clean uniform, and assisting management with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- A valid state driver’s license, current address, and acceptable driving record.
- Previous experience as a valet attendant or driving-related experience is required.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States; valid documentation must be provided if hired.
- Ability to provide accurate information to customers and coworkers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints.
- Ability to read, write, add, and subtract U.S. currency, and understand instructions, short emails, and memos.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and calmly adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events.
- Ability to stand and walk regularly and use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb or balance, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift).
Responsibilities
- Resolve client requests and concerns efficiently, find solutions to problems, and communicate proactively with clients.
- Inspect each vehicle before parking it safely and note any findings.
- Explain valet rates to customers.
- Observe traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Report accidents, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, and policy violations to management.
- Know major local streets, landmarks, and freeways to support customers’ transportation experience.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts in a clean uniform and remain in uniform throughout the shift.
- Assist management with additional duties as assigned.
