Valet Driver - JW Marriott Houston Downtown
About The Position
SP+, a Metropolis company, is seeking a safe Valet Driver who enjoys interacting with people and providing a seamless customer experience at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown. The position involves inspecting and parking vehicles, explaining valet rates, following safe driving practices, and responding professionally to customer requests and concerns. The listed shifts are 3 p.m.–11 p.m. and 7 a.m.–3 p.m. The posting lists hourly pay of $10.50–$12 plus tips in the role details and a salary range of $9–$12 per hour plus tips elsewhere. Eligible employees may participate in company benefit plans.
Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license with current address and an acceptable driving record.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States, with valid documentation provided if hired.
- Ability to provide accurate information to customers and coworkers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints.
- Ability to read, write, add, and subtract U.S. currency, and understand instructions, short emails, and memos.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and calmly adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events while working.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift).
- Availability to work special shifts if needed, including second or third shift and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Resolve client requests and concerns efficiently, identify solutions to problems, and communicate proactively with clients.
- Inspect each vehicle before parking it and note all findings.
- Explain valet rates to customers.
- Observe traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Report accidents, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, and policy violations to management.
- Know major local streets, landmarks, and freeways to support customers’ transportation experience.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts in a clean uniform and remain in complete uniform throughout the shift.
- Assist management with additional duties as assigned.
