About The Position

The Farnam, Autograph Collection in Omaha, NE is searching for a Full-Time Valet Attendant. This role provides porter services to hotel guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort by responding to requests. The attendant will park and retrieve customer vehicles safely and efficiently, document vehicle conditions, and resolve guest service issues. A friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful demeanor is essential to reassure guests.

Requirements

  • High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
  • Must have vision ability to see objects and people at a distance.
  • Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to grasp handles, carry bundles and lift packages.
  • Must have upper body strength to continually lift and carry up to 65lbs throughout the hotel during the entire shift.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems.
  • Able to run/keep an effective pace during shift.
  • Must be able to maintain a friendly, service-minded attitude in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to assist patrons while safely keeping track of keys/parking layout etc.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists guests upon arrival by helping unload luggage from vehicles and transporting it to their rooms.
  • Parks and retrieves customer vehicles in specified areas in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assists guests upon departure by transporting luggage from rooms to the lobby and helping load luggage into vehicles.
  • Responds to guest needs by promptly delivering laundry, newspapers, iron & ironing boards, additional linens, etc., in person, and maintains a log of these requests.
  • Responds to inquiries and promotes hotel services in person and via telephone, providing up-to-date hotel information.
  • Communicates hotel vehicle maintenance needs to engineering in a timely manner and follows up on completion.
  • Obeys all traffic and driving regulations.
  • Remains on scheduled route at all times.
  • Ensures the safety of all passengers and their belongings.
  • Completes transportation logs.
  • Keeps abreast of local activities and establishments to answer questions, recommend, and give directions.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
  • Cleans lobby areas and entrances and maintains them free of debris.
  • Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Completes seasonal outside duties such as snow removal, trash collection, and sweeping.
