About The Position
The UI/UX & Frontend Developer works across teams to design and implement intuitive user interfaces supporting application modernization. The role combines user experience research, wireframing, prototyping, responsive design, and frontend implementation. The developer translates wireframes into modern, maintainable UI components and provides design support for unit projects and modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of UI/UX and frontend development experience is recommended.
- Experience in UI/UX design, prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD, and modern frontend development frameworks.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, and modern design systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and end users, gathering feedback, presenting design concepts, and maintaining alignment across teams.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design system components to support application functionality.
- Research user needs, gather feedback, and adjust UI/UX approaches accordingly.
- Create and maintain style guides, pattern libraries, and reusable design artifacts.
- Ensure designs adhere to Section 508 accessibility requirements and FBI design standards.
- Build responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or related web technologies.
- Collaborate with backend developers to align UI components with API capabilities.
- Support usability testing, analyze results, and provide design-driven recommendations.
- Provide cross-team design support for additional unit projects and modernization initiatives.
