About The Position

The Finance Transformation team is shaping the future of Finance from modernizing our systems, implementing innovative AI solutions, and up-skilling the workforce. We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to drive the user experience for our internal financial systems, applications and products. In this role, you will lead the evolution of our financial applications from fragmented legacy workflows into a cohesive, intuitive ecosystem. Your primary goal is to establish a unified look, feel, and interaction model that enhances operational efficiency, reduces user error, and simplifies complex financial data visualization. The designer will build the design foundation this portfolio runs on and ensure every experience across it looks, moves, and behaves consistently, across multiple teams and often under tight timelines. Finance Transformation spans a growing portfolio of tools and workstreams, each built by a different team, at a different time, with different assumptions about how the interface should work. You will change that, building the system and standards every future FT application is designed against.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with complex concepts and designs through sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity comps, and prototypes using industry stand tools (Figma) and AI (Claude)
• Portfolio demonstrating design system work, cross-product UX consistency, and speak to your use of rapid AI-assisted prototyping.
• Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field

• You clearly communicate complex concepts and designs through sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity comps, and prototypes using industry standard tools (Figma) and AI-assisted prototyping tools.
• Proven experience designing and shipping a design system used across multiple products, not just a single app via component library.
• Experience in designing dashboards, data-dense interfaces and financial charting.
• Strong point of view on typography, layout, color, and spacing, with the ability to translate a brand language into a working system.
• A pattern-oriented mindset: able to identify when different products solve the same problem differently and unify them.
• Comfortable moving between system-level thinking and pixel-level execution.
• Fluent across audiences: able to discuss specs and behavior with engineers, and speak to impact and value with end users who don't think in design terms.
• Experience working across multiple teams at once, adapting to different timelines and priorities without losing consistency.
• Strong track record of managing up, keeping leadership informed on status and risk without being prompted.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of ambiguous, cross-team problems.
• You are comfortable with working independently and cross-functionally in a multi-disciplinary design and technical environment.
• You possess exceptional problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the adaptability to pivot quickly to new inputs or priorities.
• You excel in written and verbal communication, and can present and defend your work effectively to large groups and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and maintain a centralized Design System to guarantee a consistent interface across all internal FT financial applications. The design system for Finance Transformation needs to root from Apple's Brand Design Kit, covering typography, color, iconography, spacing, and component behavior.
• Define the navigation, layout, and interaction patterns that tie every FT application, tool and template together, so a user moving from one product or artifact has a consistent feel, minimizing any friction in the experience.
• Conduct end-to-end user research — including interviews, contextual inquiry, and usability validation — alongside core teams across the portfolio and individual projects to uncover pain points, reduce friction, and inform design decisions with evidence, not just discovery.
• Develop innovative, intuitive ways to present complex, data-intensive financial information, translating dense datasets into clear, simplified user experiences.
• Champion accessibility as a core design requirement across every FT application, ensuring interfaces meet Apple's accessibility standards and are usable by people of all abilities, consistent with Apple's broader commitment to inclusive design.
• Create reusable templates for dashboards, reports, intake forms, etc. that any team on the portfolio can adopt without redesigning from scratch.
• Use AI-assisted tools to prototype quickly, turning concepts into testable designs before a single line of code is written. Produce wireframes, mockups, and specs that take a concept from idea to build, and hold the line on consistency across the portfolio.
• Manage up and proactively surface progress, risks, and blockers to leadership, along with a clear plan to mitigate them, distilling complex design tradeoffs into updates leadership can act on.
