About The Position

Clair is on a mission to create financial freedom for America's workers by giving them a digital banking platform that allows them to get paid as soon as they clock out of work. They embed their products within the scheduling, workforce management, and payroll apps that users already use. The role is for a UX Researcher who is comfortable with strategic thinking and hands-on research. This individual will play a fundamental role in building on Clair’s existing research repository and evolving the foundation of their research function. They will collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and other teams to identify key questions, develop research approaches, and translate customer insights into action. The role involves conducting foundational and generative research, usability testing, concept testing, prototype validation, and ongoing customer discovery. A strong understanding of the personal, emotional, and nuanced nature of financial decisions is important, with experience in fintech, banking, or financial services being strongly preferred. The candidate should also have an understanding of product design and prototyping, with comfort in Figma for evaluating prototypes and partnering with designers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in User Research, UX Research, Product Research, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology company or startup environment.
  • Experience conducting research across the full product development lifecycle, from early discovery through usability testing and post-launch evaluation.
  • Strong qualitative research skills, including user interviews, usability testing, and concept testing.

  • Product design fluency and hands-on experience working with Figma and testing product concepts and prototypes.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product Managers and Product Designers.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn research findings into clear recommendations that influence product decisions.
