About The Position

Vantor is seeking a cleared UX/UI Designer to join their team. The role involves building a diverse range of applications by collaborating with software development teams to create strong user experiences and interfaces for client-funded projects. The designer will be responsible for setting the strategic design for web-based applications, from initial research and ideation to design refreshes, and will guide designs through completion, including research methodologies and supporting engineers. Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen with an active/current TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Industrial Design).
2+ years of UX/UI experience.
Strong (and preferably diverse) design portfolio.
Knowledge and applied use of Design Thinking principles.
Recent experience with Figma/FigJam.
Experience with some of the following technologies: Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision, Procreate.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Human-Centered Design approaches.
Web-based product design.
Experience with Graphic Design/Identity/Logo/Branding.
Experience mentoring junior staff or interns.
5 years experience.

Responsibilities

Setting the strategic design for web-based applications.
Conducting research and developing new designs or refreshing existing ones.
Shepherding designs through to completion, from research to implementation support.
Establishing and implementing research methodologies.
Supporting engineers who implement designs.
Meeting regularly with clients to develop user empathy, discover pain points, document user workflows, and collect requirements for fundamental features.
Communicating regularly with software development teams on product roadmaps and providing recommendations based on user feedback.
Attending daily stand-ups to stay current on feature progress and guide user interface direction.
Facilitating design critiques and participating in major product meetings (planning, retrospectives, feature demos).
