About The Position

Vantor is seeking a cleared UX/UI Designer to join their team. This role involves building a diverse range of applications for various clients by collaborating with software development teams to create strong user experiences and interfaces. The designer will be responsible for setting the strategic design for web-based applications, from initial research and concept development to refreshing existing designs. This includes implementing research methodologies, supporting engineers, and shepherding designs through to completion.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen with an active/current TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Industrial Design).
2+ years of UX/UI experience.
Must present a strong (and preferably diverse) design portfolio.
Knowledge and applied use of Design Thinking principles.
Recent experience with Figma/FigJam.
Experience with some of the following technologies: Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision, Procreate.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Human-Centered Design approaches.
Web-based product design experience.
Experience with Graphic Design/Identity/Logo/Branding.
Experience mentoring junior staff or interns.
5 years experience.

Responsibilities

Setting the strategic design for web-based applications.
Conducting research and developing new designs or refreshing existing ones.
Implementing research methodologies to drive design decisions.
Supporting engineers in the implementation of designs.
Meeting regularly with clients to develop user empathy, discover pain points, document user workflows, and collect requirements.
Communicating regularly with software development teams on product roadmaps and providing recommendations based on user feedback.
Attending daily stand-ups to stay current on feature progress and guide user interface direction.
Facilitating design critiques and participating in major product meetings (planning, retrospectives, feature demos).
