About The Position

Under the general direction of the Manager or designate, the Utilization Facilitator is responsible for: Facilitating and coordinating the movement of patients through the admission, transfer, and discharge process as required. Liaising between internal and external agencies on matters related to patient movement. Participating in the development of guidelines and educational strategies related to patient admission, transfer, and discharge. Participating in decision-making that results in an effective admission process and the optimal utilization of facility resources.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years recent nursing experience.
  • Current registration with CRNM required.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain effective resource contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff (direct care, multidisciplinary team, management).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem-solve.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in utilizing computerized applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent acute clinical experience preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Educational preparation in utilization an asset.
