About The Position

The Utility Technician works in Environmental Services at Texas Health Dallas, transporting waste, recycling materials, and soiled linen between collection points and designated disposal or holding locations. The role also includes moving furniture and other items and setting up rooms for functions. The technician follows safety, infection-control, departmental, and corporate procedures while contributing to a fast-paced, high-volume, team-oriented environment. This is a full-time evening-shift position working 40 hours per week, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with rotating weekends required. The work location is Texas Health Dallas in Dallas, Texas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Six months of Utility Technician or warehouse experience preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and remain flexible in assignments.
Ability to work around housekeeping chemicals.
Full range of motion and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to work rotating weekends.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Transport trash, biohazard waste, recycling materials, and soiled linen from collection points to designated disposal or holding points.
Ensure the safe, timely, and courteous transportation of linen according to schedule.
Follow safety and infection-control practices when handling and disposing of regular and medical waste, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, and standard and isolation precautions as required.
Move furniture, files, and other items.
Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for a variety of functions.
Adhere to departmental and corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
