Under general supervision, to perform journey level work in installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring systems, lighting and equipment; and to do other work as required. This role involves installing electrical conduits, fixtures, motors, switches and outlets according to approved codes, working from blueprints, schematic diagrams, sketches, oral and written instructions. The technician will test established circuits for overload, determine circuit requirements for additional electrical equipment, and diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical systems and equipment such as generators, fire alarms, heating and cooling equipment, commercial appliances, power control panels, and distribution systems. A key responsibility includes performing supervised work on airfield lighting systems and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment. The role also entails minor construction or alterations on facilities to install or modify electrical systems and equipment, and supervising the work of helpers. Additionally, the position requires adherence to health and safety responsibilities, including taking precautions for personal and co-worker safety, reporting unsafe conditions and occurrences, and complying with TBI’s Environmental Safety and Health program.
