About The Position

This role involves coordinating and planning utility service orders, managing work orders, and ensuring efficient operations across various utility departments. The Utility Service Planner will work with departments to determine resource needs, perform system conversions and settlements, and coordinate activities for meter readers and electric, water, wastewater, and natural gas departments. The position also involves reviewing system faults, assisting in planning maintenance, generating performance reports, and providing excellent customer service regarding utility service orders. Communication with management and departments regarding work order changes is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Associate Degree in a related field
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in communication systems
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in comprehensive computerized systems
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in computer systems
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in customer service management
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in statistical work
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Access based databases, and PowerPoint)
  • Requires a Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review)

Responsibilities

  • Works with departments to determine workloads, personnel availability and resources required for performing capital, operational and maintenance work orders.
  • Performs the notification to work order conversions and work orders settlements with the utility departments utilizing the SAP business software system.
  • Coordinates the activities and work orders of the Meter Readers and Electric, Water, Wastewater and Natural Gas Department, and Administration.
  • Reviews notifications, and reports of attempted diversions, defective meters, and other faults within the utility systems.
  • Coordinates the investigation and corrections with each appropriate department.
  • Assists with the development of planning requirements and timeframe estimations for maintenance work performed by Activity Groups.
  • Create and review weekly/monthly reports and schedule review summary to evaluate performance and offer suggestions to actions required for improving service and performance.
  • Provides excellent service and information on utility service orders to customers.
  • Distributes reports and statistical data to Management, Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Communicates with supervisors to keep all lines of information flowing and advise departments of changes to work orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
