About The Position

This position is Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7am. The objective is to provide breaks for selected jobs and to keep the coating area clean. The Utility Relief will be responsible for all requirements of the jobs they are covering during break times, which will be designated by the shift supervisor. This role also involves significant cleaning duties for the work area, including sweeping the coater, managing scrap boxes, processing scrap through MRM, blowing out trim knives, assisting with oven screens, and maintaining baler screens. Adherence to the Corporate Attendance Policy is mandatory, requiring notification of absence 1-2 hours before shift change and personal communication with the supervisor. The role requires working all scheduled hours, including weekends, holidays, and potentially 12-hour shifts. Non-essential duties include general housekeeping and painting assigned areas during downtime.

Requirements

  • Must be able to withstand temperatures of 100 degrees.
  • Must be able to climb onto the sew-on table 40-60 times per shift.
  • Must be able to pull carpet from the floats onto the sew-on table.
  • Must be able to climb ladder into carpet floats (9 feet high).
  • Must be able to get on and off lift trucks over 60 times per shift.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy.
  • Must notify the previous shift supervisor of an imminent absence 1 to 2 hours before shift change.
  • Must speak personally with supervisor detailing the reason for absence.
  • Must work all scheduled work hours for your shift.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work holidays as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide breaks and fill in for absenteeism for Sew-On Operator, Sew-On Lift Truck Operator, Froth Operator, and Console Operator.
  • Perform all requirements of the job being covered during breaks.
  • Clean and sweep the coater twice per shift.
  • Manage scrap boxes for Sew-On, Selvage Baler, and Coater Console.
  • Process scrap through MRM and weigh scrap each shift if necessary.
  • Blow out trim knives once per shift.
  • Help clean oven screens for clean-up walk.
  • Blow out balers at the end of each shift.
  • Keep baler screens clean at all times.
  • Adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy.
  • Notify the previous shift supervisor of an imminent absence 1 to 2 hours before shift change.
  • Speak personally with supervisor detailing the reason for absence.
  • Work all scheduled work hours for your shift.
  • Work weekends as necessary.
  • Work 12-hour shifts as necessary.

  • Make up boxes for trash and recyclable material.
  • Keep strings cut off rollers.
  • Keep scrap picked up and placed in correct containers.
  • Wipe down guard rails and machinery.
  • Clean and paint all areas assigned during downtime.
