About The Position

This position is Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7am. The objective is to provide breaks for selected jobs and to keep the coating area clean. The Utility Relief II will be responsible for all requirements of the jobs they are covering during breaks, with break times designated by the shift supervisor. Additionally, this role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the work area, including sweeping the coater, managing scrap boxes, processing scrap through MRM, blowing out trim knives, assisting with oven screens, and ensuring balers are blown out and screens are clean. Adherence to the Corporate Attendance Policy is required, including timely notification of absences and personal communication with a supervisor. The role also requires working all scheduled hours, including weekends, 12-hour shifts, and holidays as necessary. Non-essential duties include general housekeeping tasks like making up boxes, cutting strings, picking up scrap, and wiping down machinery. During downtime, there may be opportunities for painting assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Must adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy.
  • Must notify the previous shift supervisor of an imminent absence 1 to 2 hours before shift change.
  • Must speak personally with supervisor detailing the reason for absence.
  • Must work all scheduled work hours for your shift.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work holidays as necessary.
  • Must be able to withstand temperatures of 100 degrees.
  • Must be able to climb onto the sew-on table 40-60 times per shift.
  • Must be able to pull carpet from the floats onto the sew-on table.
  • Must be able to climb ladder into carpet floats (9 feet high).
  • Must be able to get on and off lift trucks over 60 times per shift.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Giving breaks and filling in for absenteeism for Sew-On Operator, Sew-On Lift Truck Operator, Froth Operator, and Console Operator.
  • Performing all requirements of the job being covered during breaks.
  • Cleaning and sweeping the coater twice per shift.
  • Making up scrap boxes at the start of each shift for Sew-On, Selvage Baler, and Coater Console.
  • Completing necessary steps to process scrap through MRM, including weighing scrap each shift if necessary.
  • Blowing out trim knives once per shift.
  • Helping to clean oven screens for clean-up walk.
  • Blowing out balers at the end of each shift.
  • Keeping baler screens clean at all times.
  • Making up boxes for trash and recyclable material.
  • Keeping strings cut off rollers.
  • Keeping scrap picked up and placed in correct containers.
  • Wiping down guard rails and machinery.
  • Cleaning and painting assigned areas during downtime.
