About The Position

As a Set-Up Utility Porter, your role will include shampooing carpets in convention space, polishing marble, operating various floor machines, high cleaning and dusting, emptying trashcans, picking up trash, cleaning glass, polishing metals, and performing biohazard clean-up. You will also be responsible for executing the preparation, setup, and teardown of banquet areas/meeting spaces, moving furniture and stage platforms, lifting heavy objects such as chairs, tables, and dance floor sections, and pushing/pulling carts. The Banquet Porter interacts with guests and maintains the cleanliness of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards and fire codes from the City of Nevada.

Requirements

Must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently.
Must be able to comprehend and follow Banquet Event Orders and diagrams.
Previous carpet, hard floor care and equipment knowledge is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times.

Responsibilities

Shampooing carpets in convention space.
Polishing marble.
Operating sweepers, scrubbers, buffers, walk behinds and various other floor machines.
High cleaning and/or dusting.
Emptying trashcans.
Picking up trash.
Cleaning glass.
Polishing metals.
Performing bio hazard clean-up.
Any other janitorial related duties as requested.
Executing the preparation, setup, and teardown of banquet areas/meeting spaces.
Moving furniture and stage platforms.
Lifting heavy objects such as chairs, tables, and dance floor sections.
Pushing/pulling carts.
Interacting with guests.
Maintaining the cleanliness of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards & fire codes from the City of Nevada.
