Utility Porter - Banquet Setup
About The Position
As a Set-Up Utility Porter, your role will include executing the preparation, setup, and teardown of banquet areas/meeting spaces. This involves moving furniture and stage platforms, lifting heavy objects such as chairs, tables, and dance floor sections, and pushing/pulling carts. You will also be responsible for shampooing carpets, polishing marble, operating various floor machines, high cleaning/dusting, emptying trashcans, picking up trash, cleaning glass, polishing metals, and performing biohazard clean-up. The Banquet Porter interacts with guests and maintains the cleanliness of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards and fire codes.
Requirements
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow Banquet Event Orders and diagrams.
- Previous carpet and hard floor care knowledge is required.
- Previous equipment knowledge is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times.
