About The Position

The Utility Person supports warehouse, receiving, and production operations at the Traver Organic Feedmill. The role includes maintaining clean receiving and production areas to meet OSHA standards and keep dust to a minimum; maintaining warehouse records and inventory; receiving and tracking bagged ingredients; moving bags to the third floor for mill operators; and gathering and distributing supplies to other departments. The employee may also provide general housekeeping and fill in or assist in receiving and production operations as needed or directed by management. The position requires working flexible, rotating shifts, including weekends, and adapting to work at heights of 40 to 170 feet. Pay is $18.89 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked from 7:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. and an additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked from midnight to 4:59 a.m.

Requirements

• Be a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision and manage time efficiently.
• Be able to adapt to heights of 40 to 170 feet.
• Have good computer skills and the ability to learn the Mill's Repete Operating System.
• Be able to learn to operate a forklift.
• Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to learn new concepts and procedures efficiently.
• Be able to work flexible, rotating shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping in receiving and production areas to meet OSHA standards and maintain a minimum dust level.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records and inventories.
• Receive bagged ingredients and track warehouse inventory.
• Load bags to the third floor for mill operators.
• Gather and distribute supplies for other departments, such as gloves, batteries, and sample cups.
• Provide general housekeeping and help or fill in as needed in other departments, including receiving and production, as directed by management.
