About The Position

The Utility Person I works in Heidelberg Materials’ Aggregates line of business, performing service, inspection, and labor operations throughout a quarry or plant. The role supports safe, efficient workflow through communication with plant employees, grounds upkeep, shoveling, parts organization, maintenance assistance, and area cleanup. Occasional operation of small mobile equipment may be required. The employee may also perform other duties as requested. The role operates primarily around moving mechanical equipment and may be exposed to inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. Candidates must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Highly dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Nice To Haves

Two years of prior experience in the aggregate industry.
Experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance.
Prior experience operating mobile equipment and machinery, such as a man reach, telehandler, or skid steer.

Responsibilities

Maintain strong communication with other plant employees to support efficient and safe workflow.
