About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Utility Person to support daily quarry operations. The role assists with maintenance, housekeeping, production support, and general site activities that contribute to a safe and efficient operation. The Utility Person performs site cleanup, operates a haul truck to move materials from the pit to the plant, assists with equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections, and moves materials, tools, and supplies as needed. The role requires following safety, environmental, and operating procedures while contributing to team goals.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow established work procedures.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance and quarry operations tasks.
• Dependable team player with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform site housekeeping and cleanup to maintain a safe and organized quarry environment.
• Operate a haul truck to move materials from the pit to the plant safely and efficiently in support of production.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to support operational reliability.
• Move materials, tools, and supplies as needed to support production activities.
• Follow safety, environmental, and operating procedures while contributing to team goals.
